When you least expect it...

Our friend, John, got hit and instantly killed by a train this morning. He was supposedly listening to music at the time and didn't hear the train coming around the corner...
It's so surreal. It was about 400m from our house, and we heard both the train that honked longer than usual and the sirens that followed.
We'll surely miss him.

*sigh*

It's so unfair. He was 16. So young.
